Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on August 31, 2010 to purchase a 2011 4-Wheel Mechanical Broom High Dump Sweeper.  Purchasing this replacement sweeper was approved by the City Council in the FY11 budget.  The existing sweeper will be traded in to the company providing the new sweeper.  The new sweeper will also have a 5-year warranty that is included in the bid price.

The City Council may: 

Approve the award of the 2011 Sweeper to Titan Machinery in the amount of $176,507.68: or

Reject all bids and do not purchase the Sweeper

Staff recommends awarding the bid for the purchase of a 2011 4-Wheel Mechanical Broom High Dump Sweeper in the amount of $173,738.68 plus the 5 year warranty of $2,769.00 to Titan Machinery.  Staff also recommends trading the existing Sweeper (Unit #1254) in the amount of $17,500.00.
