Staff opened bids on April 28, 2020, for the Metal Streets Improvements Project. The project will install curbing and reconstruct the non-maintainable Metal Streets.  These streets are currently not in the street preventative maintenance program and the project will allow them to be incorporated into the program in the future.  The project was advertised on April 10, April 17, and April 24, 2020 in The Yellowstone County News and on the City's website. There were three (3) bids and FirstMark Construction, LLC submitted the lowest responsible bid. 

City Council may:

• Award W.O. 19-35 Metal Streets Improvements to FirstMark Construction, LLC, in the amount of $593,995.00, or;
• Not award the contract to FirstMark Construction, LLC, and reject all bids.  If the contract is not awarded, the neighborhood streets will remain non-maintainable by the standards of the street preventative maintenance program and will continue to degrade.

The project will utilize a combination of gas tax and property owner assessments.  The low bid is approximately $100,000 less than the funds budgeted in FY 20, resulting in lower costs for both the gas tax fund and property owner assessments.  The following bids were received and evaluated:
