PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Montana - Dakota Utilities is seeking an easement to install a rectifier and ground bed to protect steel distribution main and service gas lines. This easement is on the west side of 28th Street West in Descro Park across from an alley between Terry Avenue and Miles Avenue. See Easement Documents in Attachment A.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the requested utility easements within Descro Park or;
- Disapprove the easement and provide staff with additional direction.
FISCAL EFFECTS
There will be no financial impact to the City.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the utility easement for Descro Park to allow Montana - Dakota Utilities to install a gas line pipe protection system.
