PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Propiedad, LLC has petitioned to vacate the alley right of way adjacent to Lots 1-6, Block 1 of La Ray Subdivision. The alley has not been constructed nor are there any public utilities in it. The property owners adjacent to the alley right of way would like to purchase it and utilize it along with their property to develop a dry storage facility. The area of the land proposed to be vacated is 4,730 square feet.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may:
- Approve acknowledgment of petition to vacate the above-mentioned right-of-way and set a public hearing for June 22, 2020.
- Do not acknowledge the petition and terminate the right-of-way vacation process. If not approved, future development would need to be designed to accommodate the alley right of way.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to acknowledge the petition and set a public hearing.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council acknowledge the receipt of petition to vacate the alley right of way adjacent to Lots 1-6, Block 1, La Ray Subdivision, and set a public hearing for June 22, 2020.
