1st Hour - $1.25
2nd Hour - $1.25

BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
In 2016 credit card meters were installed and the rate increased to $1.00 for the first hour, $1.00 for the second hour and $2.00 for the third hour for a maximum stay of 3 hours and the standard coin meters changed from .50 cents to .75 cents per hour for a maximum stay of 2 hours. In 2019, all meters were changed to the same rate of $1.00 for the first hour, $1.00 for the second hour and $2.00 for the third hour.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the resolution to increase the parking meter rates, or;
- Disapprove the recommendation and the Parking Division explore other options.
FISCAL EFFECTS
The parking meter rate increase would collect approximately $78,000 each year in additional revenue. Approving the parking meter rate increase is one part to address the operations and maintenance issues.
