RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program Grant in the Amount of $230,612 to offset costs related to preventing, preparing for, and responding to the Coronavirus.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The City of Billings has been offered a grant from the Department of Justice to reimburse unexpected expenses related to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This grant pays for expenses related to prevention, preparing for, and responding to the Coronavirus.
$38,062 will be used to pay direct overtime costs related to pandemic preparation and response. $161,814 will be used to purchase supplies and equipment. Some examples include disinfecting supplies, signage, plexiglass shields, personal protective equipment, respirators etc. $30,736 will be used for Billings Police Department inmates at the Yellowstone County Jail for health exams and treatment related to the Coronavirus.

ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve, the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program Grant in the amount of $230,612; or
- Disapprove the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program Grant in the amount of $230,612; and absorb related costs in department budgets.
