Staff recommends that the City Council accept the low bid and purchase the three 2021 58,000 G.V.W. 12-yd. dump trucks with snowplow assembly and sanders from Tri-State in the amount of $662,569.48.  This includes a trade in amount of $38,000 and a 4-year transmission/ 5-year engine warranty in the amount of $4,902 each.

Two bids were received by the Public Works Street/Traffic Division on September 15, 2020 to purchase three 2021 58,000 G.V.W. 12-yd. dump trucks with snowplow assembly and sanders. This purchase will replace existing units 1190/1290/1390 and 1191/1291/1391 and provide one additional dump truck. All three dump trucks are included in the FY21 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP) and in the FY 21 Street/Traffic division budget.

Unit 1190/1290/1390 will be traded in for $38,000 and unit 1191/1291/1391 will be transferred to the Solid Waste division to utilize in its operations.

City Council may:

• Approve purchasing the three 2021 58,000 G.V.W. 12-yd. dump trucks with snowplow assembly and sanders, or;
• Disapprove the purchase.  The existing units are nearing the end of its useful life.
