RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approve the acceptance of the $15,000 donation from Barbara Garrett to be used on improvements to Country Manor Park.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Barbara Garrett has long been interested in improvements to Country Manor Park especially making it more user-friendly for senior users. She has requested the money be used for benches, shade and sidewalk access at Country Manor Park. Mrs. Garrett made a very generous donation to provide the funding necessary.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the acceptance of the $15,000 donation from Barbara Garrett for improvements to Country Manor Park; or,
- Not approve the resolution and provide staff with additional guidance.
FISCAL EFFECTS
These funds will provide a means to make significant improvements to Country Manor Park.
SUMMARY
Barbara Garrett made a generous donation to the Parks Recreation and Public Lands Department providing funding to make improvements to Country Manor Park.
