RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approve the resolution ordering improvements identified in WO 20-12, South 32nd Street West reconstruction project.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
WO 20-12 South 32nd Street West consists of reconstructing South 32nd Street West between King Avenue West and Gabel Rd. It will be widened to a 3-lane street including two travel lanes and a two-way-left-turn-lane. Other improvements include a trail connection from King Avenue West south to Transtech Way on the west side and sidewalk on the east side. Street lights will be added between King Ave W and Transtech Way. The project will also include striping improvements on South 32nd Street West from King Avenue north to Monad Road and sidewalk widening on the west side, also from King Avenue to Monad Road. Staff has contacted and visited with property owners individually during project development.
This resolution was created in accordance with Resolution 18-10719. All properties within the City limits fronting South 32nd St W are being assessed for curb and gutter, sidewalk, partial street reconstruction, and other appurtenant miscellaneous improvements such as concrete drive approaches, driveway asphalt, and seeding relative to each property.
City funds are being used to reconstruct most of the street in the project and is consistent with how similar streets are being constructed in other neighborhoods.
