PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
City election ward boundaries must be adjusted to conform to city limit amendments resulting from the exclusion of city property. The City Council approved the exclusion of Tract 2A, C/S 2544, in the Briarwood PUD, (Annexation #10-03) on October 25, 2010 by Resolution #10-19014 requiring a change in the boundaries of Ward I. Two readings are required for this action. The first reading of the ordinance is scheduled for November 8, 2010 along with a public hearing, and the second reading is scheduled for November 22, 2010.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may approve or not approve the ordinance to amend the boundary of Ward I on first reading. Approving the ordinance will modify the boundaries of Ward I to exclude Tract 2A, C/S 2544. Denying the ordinance will not modify the boundaries of Ward I.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no budget/financial impact from this action.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council hold a public hearing and approve this ordinance on first reading removing recently excluded property from Ward I.
