RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council accept two grants, totaling $1,500, awarded to the Billings Public Library Teen Tech Lab.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Teen Librarian applied for, and has been awarded, two grants to be expended on specific programs. The first grant, in the amount of $500, was awarded by Humanities Montana for an outdoor book club for teens. The second grant, in the amount of $1,000, was awarded by Town Pump Charitable Foundation for the program "Keep Kids Reading - Teens." These monies will be used by the Teen Tech Lab to enhance the summer programming designed specifically for local teens.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the grants; or,
- Not Approve the grants.
FISCAL EFFECTS
There is no budgetary impact.
