RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommendation is to purchase one (1) 107-ft heavy-duty aerial ladder apparatus from Pierce Mfg, Inc. / Hughes Fire Equipment for a net purchase price of $1,135,121.00. (Base bid of $1,212,487.00 less the pre-payment discounts ($77,366) offered by Pierce = $1,135,121.00)
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The call for sealed bids was published on July 16 & 23 with the Bid openings on August 3, 2021. Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. was the only bid received.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may approve or not approve Staff Recommendation to purchase one (1) Enforcer 107' Ascendant ASL Quint AS826 from Pierce Mfg in the amount of $1,135,121.00.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Delaying the bid award and purchase could impact the estimated delivery date and total cost of this truck. Pierce's delivery schedule at the time of bid was estimated at 397-488 calendar days after execution of the contract F.O.B. customer's facility in Billings, Montana.
In FY2022 the Equipment Replacement Program budget of $1,088,430.00 has been included for the replacement of Unit #4060, Engine #4 mini-tower/quint which was put into service 2005.
