RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council awards the purchase of a 2021 roll-off truck from Western Systems in the amount of $189,054.00 which includes the 5 year warranty in the amount of $3,412.00.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Bids were received for a 2021 roll-off truck that will replace an existing roll-off truck. The purchase is included in the FY22 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP). There is no trade value as the existing roll-off truck will be transferred from the Street/Traffic Division to the Solid Waste Division for their use. The 2021 roll-off truck was advertised on August 6th and August 13th, 2021, in the Yellowstone County News and on the City’s website. Bids were opened on August 17th and four bids were received. Western Systems submitted the lowest, responsible bid.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve purchase of the 2021 roll-off truck; or,
- Not approve the purchase. The roll-off truck is a vital part of our sweeping and snow removal process and replacement ensures that it will be reliable when it's needed.
FISCAL EFFECTS
