RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approves the three (3) utility easements for construction/extension of the sanitary sewer system.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Two properties, 4300 and 4310 State Avenue, currently have their sanitary sewer services connected to the storm drain system. These easements will allow extension of the current City of Billings sanitary sewer system to serve these properties and eliminate this cross connection.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the sanitary sewer easements; or,
- Not approve the easements. If not approved, the sewer cannot be extended and the cross connection would not be removed.
FISCAL EFFECTS
There is no cost to the City for acceptance of the easements. However, if the easements are not accepted, the cost to install the sewer line would likely be higher due to the route being longer.
