RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council award the bid for striping and road markings for 11 roundabouts to Streamline Markings in the amount of $175,000.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The pavement markings for eleven roundabouts will be painted in epoxy paint and includes grinding/cleaning markings prior to re-striping. The epoxy paint will last longer under the high-traffic conditions that exist on the roundabouts. The bid was advertised in the Yellowstone County News on September 16, September 23, and September 30, 2022. Bids were opened on October 4, 2022, and two bids were received. Streamline Markings submitted the lowest responsible bid.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the bid for the painting and striping of the 11 roundabouts to Streamline Markings; or,
- Reject all bids. If not approved, the striping will fade causing safety issues.
