Staff recommends that the City Council approve and award the Airport's Carpet Installation and Replacement Project to low bidder Pierce Flooring, Inc. - Billings, MT for $174,150.00. 

In order to continue the color scheme of the new Concourse expansion into the pre-security areas, bids were requested for new carpeting that matches the new Concourse in the areas not under construction; including ticketing, baggage claim and the existing terrazzo areas.  The existing terrazzo tile flooring is located on the main walkway between Doors 1 - 4, running from ticketing to baggage claim.  The terrazzo was installed during the 1992 expansion project and has developed numerous cracks and chipped out areas from the ground shifting during the transition between the cold Winters and hot Summers.  Subsequently, the roughly 10,000 square feet of terrazzo flooring will be covered with new carpet tiles enhancing this walkway area.  Additionally, all of the existing carpeting in baggage and ticketing will also be replaced for a total of 21,860 square feet of carpet tiles that match the new Concourse carpet, and 2,750 square feet of new walk off carpet in front of the doors.  Now that the new Concourse A is open, this project will begin to refresh and update the pre-security areas of the Terminal so that all of the spaces start blending together.  This work will take place at night and is scheduled for installation after the holidays so as not to disrupt airline operations in the Terminal Building.

This project was advertised in the Yellowstone County News on October 21, 28 and November 4, 2022, and posted on the City and Airport's websites.  On November 9, 2022, the following bids were received:

The low bid for this project is $174,150.00 and the funds for this project are available in the Airport's Capital Account.
