RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council award the bid for temporary labor services at the Landfill to Advanced Employment in the amount of $18.20 per hour.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Solid Waste Division utilizes temporary workers at the Billings Regional Landfill to supplement full-time staff and to assist in the daily operations of the landfill. Tasks generally include, but are not limited to, litter collection, weed eating, and lawn mowing. The contract is valid for one year with two 1-year renewal options. The bid for temporary workers - City of Billings Regional Landfill was advertised on November 4 and November 11, 2022, in the Yellowstone County News and on the City's website. Bids were opened on November 22, 2022, and four bids were received. Advanced Employment submitted the lowest responsible bid.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the contract with Advanced Employment in the amount of $18.20 per hour; or,
- Not approve the contract. If the contract is not approved, general site maintenance will suffer and litter collection will be delayed.
