RECOMMENDATION
Discuss 2023 legislative session with the city's lobbyists - Aimee Grmoljez and Steve Turkiewicz.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The council legislative committee has held weekly meetings throughout most of the 2023 legislative session. Most weeks they have also participated in a weekly Zoom call with Aimee, Steve and staff. The attached document lists the bills the city has either been supporting, opposing or monitoring consistent with the Resolution X approved by the council in January.
HB 534 534 - A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: “AN ACT INCREASING THE CAP FOR COLLECTIONS RELATED TO ACTIONS BROUGHT BEFORE A MUNICIPAL COURT; AMENDING SECTION 3-6-103, MCA.” is being carried by Representative Yakawich in response to a request from the City's nuisance property team.
