PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT

On January 10, 2011, City Council approved the acceptance of the 2010 Homeland Security grant in the amount of $38,860. This grant will be used for training, upgrade of current equipment and new equipment for the City of Billings Bomb Squad.   The grant period is September 30, 2010, through June 30, 2013.  The State of Montana informed the City that the actual grant award should have been in the amount of $48,000; a difference of $9,140.  Staff recommends City Council approve and accept the additional $9,140 award, making the grant total $48,000; and authorize the Mayor to sign the new award documents when received.  The award documents will be on file in the City Clerk's Office.

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED

The City Council may:

RECOMMENDATION
