Agenda Item Text:

Approve the sale of a 1992 Broce T120 Road Power Broom, declared surplus by the Fleet Management Department, to the City of Benson in the amount of $1,000.

Background:

Background: A 1992 Broce T120 Road Power Broom has been declared surplus by the Fleet Management Department. The City of Benson has requested to purchase the equipment from the County with an offer of $1,000. The Fleet Department has declared a surplus value of between $1,000 -2000. The sale price of $1,000 takes into consideration that over the past 3 years the City of Benson has allowed the Highways Division to use their steel drum roller at no cost to the County for chip seal projects and has allowed them to store AB materials at their yards.

In accordance with ARS§11-251, a county may with unanimous consent of the board, without public auction, sell or lease any county property to any other duly constituted governmental entity, including the state, cities, towns and other counties. The Fleet Management Director has made a determination that $1,000 is a reasonable offer based on current market conditions and other considerations previously stated.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Prepare bill of sale. Collect and deposit monies from sale.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The City of Benson would have to bid on this vehicle at public auction.
