Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve the acceptance of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Funding Agreement in the amount of $25,738 for court security improvements effective May 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
Background:
In 2015, the Arizona Supreme Court adopted Court Security Standards for the Arizona Courts. These standards were meant to serve as a roadmap to ensure that each court is a safe and secure environment for the resolution of disputes.
During the last budget session, the Arizona Supreme Court requested authority to set aside some filing fee revenue to set up a competitive grant program for courts to access security improvements consistent with the standards. In doing so, the results were successful.
The court engaged in security audits of all of their facilities county-wide and requested 28K+ to make these upgrades.
