Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement IGA-SABG-GR-19-100118-02 between the Cochise County School Superintendent's Office and the Governor's Office in the amount of $212,000 effective October 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 to educate students and their parents on substance and drug abuse.
Background:
The award amount of $212,000 is to be used by the Cochise County School Superintendent's Office to provide students and parents with education regarding substance and drug abuse for the 18/19 year. The award amount will be distributed amongst the Cochise County School Superintendent's Office and 3-4 school districts.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The Cochise County School Superintendent's Office will select and secure the participation of 3-4 middle schools and will include the entire 7th grade population of each. The ?Cochise County School Superintendent's Office will identify a ESA Project Manager from their staff, attending a training at a middle school site in January. Each site will hold a 2-hour event in February or March. The ESA Project Manager will maintain contact with each middle school Project Coordinator to ensure the school's grant deliverables are met.

If not approved, we will be unable to educate parents and students with up to date information regarding substance and drug abuse.
