Approve the re-appointments of the following persons to the Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board: Sharon Flissar, P.E. as Professional Engineer board member to a three-year term that will expire on September 25, 2022; Mike Rutherford as General Contractor board member to a three-year term that will expire on September 25, 2022, and Kim Mulhern as Member-at Large board member to a three-year term that will expire on September 25, 2022.
Background:
The Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board (BCAAB) was established in September 2013 as a seven-member board to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official regarding application and interpretation of the adopted building codes; to determine the appropriateness of alternative building materials and construction methods and to advise the Building Official and Development Services on proposed revisions or additions to adopted building codes.
The BCAAB at their December 12, 2019 meeting recommended approval of the re-appointments of Sharon Flissar, P.E. as Professional Engineer board member to a three-year term expiring on September 25, 2022, Mike Rutherford as General Contractor board member to a three-year term expiring on September 25, 2022, and Kim Mulhern as Member-at-Large board member to a three-year term expiring on September 25, 2022.

If approved, staff will notify the board members of their re-appointments.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If the re-appointments are not approved, the seven-member Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board will have the following three vacant positions: Professional Engineer, General Contractor and Member-at-Large.
