The applicant requests two separate Special Use Authorizations to construct a 560 acre and a 540 acre utility scale solar power generation facilities located on an approximately 10,870 acre parcel.
The sites are located on the Babocomari Ranch south west of junction of State Route 90 and 82. The site is further identified as Parcel 106-03-038.

Babacomari Solar North, LLC and Babacomari Solar South LLC are requesting special use authorization to construct and operate two solar energy power plants. Both the north the south projects are each planed as an 80MW solar photovoltaic (PV) utility scale solar power generation facility with the possibility of an energy storage system. A new approximately 1 mile above ground utility line will be constructed between the two facilities.  They will then tie into the existing Tucson Electric Power (TEP) transmission line that runs from Fort Huachuca to the Tucson area.
