Approve Amendment 2 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) YH16-0018-13 between Cochise County and the Arizona Health Care Containment System (AHCCCS) for Cochise County Medicaid Eligible Inmates, to revise the rates and terms of the IGA.
Background:
This is a standard IGA that is renewed every year with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). When we send individuals, who are incarcerated at the Detention Center to the hospital, we bill AHCCCS for the hospitalization. The IGA clarifies the expectation that we will be compliant with AHCCCS guidelines and that if we submit a claim that is NOT consistent with CMS regulations, it will be denied.
