Information

Agenda Item Text:

Adopt Zoning Ordinance 21-16 to approve Docket R-21-03 - Water Conservation, an amendment to the Cochise County Zoning Regulations and adopt Resolution 21-23, an amendment to International Residential Code (IRC) 2015 Edition, Appendix Q, Tiny Homes 2018 IRC Edition, and International Plumbing Code 2015 Edition.

Background:

This docket is intended to revise local amendments of the building code and sections of the zoning regulations in response to previous adjustments to the 2015 Building Codes, to better organize/specify water conservation requirements, and to make water conservation measures in the County more measurable, in general.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, the Zoning Regulations and relevant permit applications will be revised. The list of local amendments to the relevant sections of the Building Codes will also be revised.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The Zoning Regulations and relevant sections of the Building Codes will not be amended. Residential permits not listed in the IRC that were previously exempt from permit, will now be subject to obtaining permits. Water conservation requirements previously included in the Zoning Regulations will not be required.
