Approve Amendment 1 to the Fiscal Agent/Grant Agreement between the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Cochise County, and Sunsites-Pearce Fire District, to revise the definition of the term "Project."
Background:
The County has the authority to act as a pass-through agency for special districts in need of additional funding to support their local statutory mandates. On November 30, 2021, the Board approved the Fiscal Agent/Grant Agreement with the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Cochise County, and Sunsites-Pearce Fire District (District), to accept and pass-through to the District $198,132 for the purchase of a new 4 X 4 ambulance.
Since the time of approval, an additional ambulance has broken down and is in worse condition than the ambulance originally planned to be replaced. This Amendment 1 will re-define the term "Project" in the original agreement to allow the funding to be used to replace any ambulance selected by the District, thereby allowing the District to address its most pressing need.
