Agenda Item Text:
Approve Mutual Aid Agreement IM-W91QUS-22-040-MAA between U.S. Army Garrison Fort Huachuca and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office to identify and document the presence of undocumented immigrants in Cochise County, within the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Huachuca.
Background:
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office and Fort Huachuca recognize the need for interagency cooperation to identify the presence of Undocumented Immigrants (UDIs) migrating from the southern border of the United States through Fort Huachuca and then into Cochise County. Actions taken by the UDIs and associates who are in distress or who are engaging in activity can impact the safety and security of residents both on Fort Huachuca and in Cochise County.
The Sheriff's Office will provide cameras and associated equipment to Ft. Huachuca, at no cost. Ft. Huachuca will be responsible for placing the cameras, notifying USBP and generating monthly statistical reports.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Once approved, the Sheriff's Office will provide Ft. Huachuca with cameras and other equipment. It will be installed, creating better situational awareness of UDI activity on Ft. Huachuca and in Cochise County.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, we will not have an ability to detect UDI migration activity through Ft. Huachuca.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Please sign two original copies and return them to Lieutenant Gijanto. One original will be returned to Ft. Huachuca. The other to the Sheriff's Office.
