Agenda Item Text:

Approve Grant Subrecipient Agreement, 22-AZDOHS-HSGP-220400-01, between the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) and Cochise County Emergency Services, effective October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023, in the amount of $15,000 for SWAT equipment.

Background:

Cochise County was awarded a grant of $15,000 for SWAT equipment from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security.  The program is the FFY2022 Homeland Security Grant Program and the project is: Combatting High-Risk National Threats by Equipping Cochise County's Tier 2 SWAT Team with Enhanced Tactical Capabilities.  The grant program is part of the US Department of Homeland Security Grant Program.  The equipment award is for a borescope type camera.
 

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Submit two signed copies of Subrecipient Agreement.  Purchase equipment.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Cochise County SWAT team will not be able to purchase equipment.

Two copies of signed Subrecipient Agreement returned to Emergency Management Department.
