Agenda Item Text:
Appoint Mark Prince to the Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board to fill the Member-at-Large position for a three-year term which expires on September 25, 2026.
Background:
Mr. Prince has expressed interest to serve in the Member-at Large position which has remained vacant since that board member resigned. His appointment would fill the Member-at-Large position for a three-year term which expires on September 25, 2026. The BCAAB unanimously recommended approval of his appointment at their August 30, 2023 board meeting.
Mr. Prince is mostly retired after a 30-year career with several State of Oregon fire services.
The Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board was established in September 2013 as a seven-member board to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official regarding application and interpretation of the adopted building codes; to determine the appropriateness of alternative building materials and construction methods and to advise the Building Official and Development Services Building Safety Division on proposed revisions or additions to adopted building codes.
