Approve Amendment 1 to Department of Public Safety (DPS) Anti-Human Trafficking Agreement 2024-078, extending the effective date through June 30, 2025, and clarifying total grant of no more than $500,000.
Background:
On 6/4/2024, the Board of Supervisors approved DPS Anti-Smuggling grant 2024-078. The original duration of the grant was to June 30, 2024. The amendment extends the grant through June 30, 2025. It also clarifies the grant is for no more than $500,000. The itemized value in the original grant exceeded $500,000.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the Sheriff's Office will apply to use the balance of the grant, which is about $19,000.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the Sheriff's Office will lose an opportunity to use the remaining approximately $19,000 of the grant.
