Approve Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Juvenile Probation Funding Agreement, as provided by the Arizona Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), in the amount of $1,187,574, effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
Background:
The purpose of the allocation for Juvenile Probation is to support the juvenile courts and probation department to achieve or maintain the average juvenile probation case supervision requirement, support supervision activities, and to impact the number of repetitive offenders.
This agreement provides for the following:
$922,574 is disbursed to Cochise County
$265,000 is retained at the AOC to cover Cochise expenses
Juvenile Intensive Probation Supervision Program (JIPS) $325,151 and $9,724 SLFRF,
Juvenile Standard Probation Program $149,382 and $17,957 SLFRF,
Juvenile Probation Services Fund (JPSF) $350,050 total: $95,050 disbursed and $255,000 is retained at the AOC for treatment expenses,
Diversion Intake $211,810 and $41,815 SLFRF,
Diversion Consequence $75,941 total: $65,941 disbursed and $10,000 is retained at the AOC for contract services expenses,
Juvenile Monetary Sanctions $5,744, backfill funding to replenish revenues lost from the repeal of juvenile monetary sanctions.
New funding in FY25:
State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) is provided by the Governor's Office to supplement probation salary increases and disbursed to counties by the AOC.
This agreement provides for the following:
