Discussion with Possible Action regarding settlement agreement in the matter of American Oversight v. Stevens, et.al., Cochise County Superior Court No. CV 2024-00017.
Background:
American Oversight (Plaintiff) submitted multiple public records requests seeking records related to County actions during the November 2022 elections. The Plaintiff filed complaint CV202400017 in Cochise County Superior Court against Cochise County, Supervisors Crosby, English, and Judd and Recorder Stevens (all in official capacities), alleging the County has failed to timely respond to the public records request in compliance with Arizona Public Records Law. Outside counsel was retained to defend the County.
