Approve Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Nature Conservancy to assist in the acquisition of property for the Bisbee Effluent Recharge Project.
Background:
For more than ten years, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has assisted the County in acquiring properties for the Cochise Conservation and Recharge Network (CCRN), including Palominas, Babocomari and Bella Vista. This MOU allows TNC to assist with the purchase of a property for the Bisbee Effluent Recharge project by conducting the due diligence at no cost to the County. Fort Huachuca, through its cooperative agreement with both the County and TNC, is also supporting this transaction. The acquisition of the property is a phase of the project in support of the Agreement for the Sale and Purchase of Wastewater Effluent from the City of Bisbee as approved by the BOS on November 26, 2024.

Return fully executed MOU to The Nature Conservancy and work with them on the acquisition.

The County FCD would have to expend additional funds and resources in the acquisition process.
