Approve an Interfund Transfer of $15,000 from the Emergency Management General Fund to the Emergency Management Grant Fund for the 10% grant match for the Community Wildfire Defense Grant for the Community Wildfire Protection Plan project. 

Background:

On November 26, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved a Community Wildfire Defense Grant (24-CWDG-802) for the creation of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan.  The project budget is $150,000 consisting of 90% in grant funds ($135,000) and a 10% match from the County ($15,000).  The $15,000 match is currently in the FY25 Emergency Management General Fund Budget.  Requesting to move the funds from the General Fund (100-3600-9) to the Emergency Management Grant Fund (218-3600-3650).

The Community Wildfire Protection Plan was last updated in 2014.  The $150,000 budget will be used for professional services to obtain a contractor to complete the plan.

EM Department will execute the interfund transfer and start the procurement of a vendor.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

County will not be able to complete Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
