Agenda Item Text:
Reappoint Mike Rutherford to serve as the General Contractor on Building Code Advisory Board for an additional three-year term to expire on September 25, 2028.
Background:
Mr. Rutherford was appointed to the newly established BCAAB in September 2013 and has served since its inception. His reappointment to the General Contractor position is for an additional three-year term to expire on September 25, 2028. The BCAAB unanimously recommend approval of his reappointment at their August 21, 2025, regular board meeting.
The Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board was established in September 2013 as a seven-member board to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official regarding application and interpretation of the adopted building codes; to determine the appropriateness of alternative building materials and construction methods and to advise the Building Official and Building Safety Division on proposed revisions or additions to adopted building codes.
