Approve amendments to Policy 2218: Emergency Declaration and Resources.
Background:
Policy 2218, Emergency Declaration and Resources was last updated on January 1, 2020. Policy 2218 describes how County resources may be allocated and used during emergency situations. The Board held a work session in July 2025 to review proposed changes. The following changes are proposed:
- Clarify chain of command when County resources are reassigned for emergency purposes. Specifically, during the phases of an emergency: situations without an Emergency Declaration, and situations during a declared Local Emergency or State of Emergency. Further clarifies chain of command for resources in Elected Offices and resources in the Appointed Departments.
- Clarify administrative considerations such as what departments shall be consulted, equipment tracking, and reimbursement for employees and equipment normally administered through Special Revenue Funds.

Policy will be in effect.

Policy from 2020 will be in effect, changes will not be made.
