Adopt Jail District Resolution 25-04, levying the Cochise County Jail District Excise Tax.
Background:
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-4022, the Board of Directors of the Cochise County Jail District must pass a resolution to levy the voter-approved excise tax. Under the same statute, the excise tax would become effective July 1, 2026.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Record Resolution and provide official notification of adoption to the Arizona Department of Revenue.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Cochise County Jail District excise tax would not go into effect July 1, 2026.
