Approve the reappointment of Justin C. Allred as a Superior Court Pro Tempore Judge, pursuant to A.R.S. § 12-141 and A.R.S. § 12-142, for a term beginning June 15, 2026, and ending June 18, 2026.

Background:

The Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of Arizona in Cochise County has requested the appointment of a Judge Pro Tempore for the Superior Court to maintain the court’s ability to process cases while all other judges in Cochise County attend the Annual Judicial Conference, scheduled for June 15 through June 18, 2026.

Justin C. Allred, a Cochise attorney, meets all qualifications required of a Judge Pro Tempore pursuant to A.R.S. § 12-142. This appointment is conditioned upon approval by the Cochise County Board of Supervisors pursuant to A.R.S. § 12-141.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Appointment by Presiding Judge of the Arizona Superior Court in Cochise County. 

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

A Superior Court Judge will be required to remain on duty to ensure the continued processing of cases while the other Cochise County judges attend the Annual Judicial Conference, scheduled for June 15–18, 2026. The judge who remains will fulfill their mandatory judicial education requirements at an alternate time throughout the calendar year.
