Adopt Resolution 26-09 to approve AZ034 Streamlined 2026-2027 Annual Plan Effective July 1, 2026, and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Administrative Plan Effective March 24, 2026.

Background:

Each year, the Housing Authority submits Plans to HUD as policies and guides for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.  This year, HACC is adding a preference for families who are currently receiving assistance in the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program to be placed on the Housing Choice Voucher wait list due to the end of the EHV funding on July 1, 2026.  

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, the Housing Authority will submit the Plans by the due date of April 2026 to HUD and implement the changes to the administrative plan, effective immediately upon approval.  

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

If the Plans are not approved, the Housing Authority risks being delinquent on a HUD requirement.

In addition to the Resolution, the Chairperson of the Board will need to sign 2 additional attachments (HUD Form 50077-SL and 50077-ST-HCV-HP.  Please send them to Anita Baca, Housing Director.
