Approve a donation to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office from the Support Our Sheriff's Foundation, Inc. in the amount of $390,000, to be used for public records redaction software, various facility improvements, CPR machines at the jail, and recognition badges for America's 250th birthday.
Background:
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office has received a generous donation in the amount of $390,000.00 from the Support Our Sheriff's Foundation. The Support Our Sheriff's Foundation is led by a dedicated group of current and former law enforcement professionals, businesses, and community leaders. They state, "We are united in our mission to strengthen Sheriffs' offices and ensure their employees, families, and communities receive the support they need." Their mission statement: "We are dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of our communities by supporting sheriffs and their families through essential resources, training, and immediate relief in times of need."
This generous donation will be used by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office in the following manner: 1. Records (Axon) support system $109,000.00 for 3-year contract. This system will help with an overload in public records requests and redaction software for body-worn cameras. 2. Furniture and partial remodel for Records staff at the Bisbee Office $160,000.00 3. Medical Supplies (CPR) compression machine at main jail $22,000.00 4. United States of America 250th birthday recognition badges for Deputies and Detention Officers, Pins for Support staff $35,000.00 5. Community Outreach/Border Center improvements $54,000.00 6. Event Planning Supplies $10,000.00.
