Adopt Resolution 12-52 canceling the PBW Fire District Board November 6, 2012 election for the two 4-year board seats up for election and declare them vacant, effective the 1st day of December 2012, to be filled by the Board Members at that time.
Background:
A.R.S. 48-802 (D)(4) provides that the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election for Fire District Governing Board seats and appoint the person who filed nomination papers to fill the position or declare vacant seats when the number of positions is equal to or more then the number of persons who filed nominaton papers.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Notify the PBW Fire District of the cancellation of the election and declaration of vacancy.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
PBW Fire District will incur cost of election.
