Adopt Resolution 12-72 canceling the Naco Fire District Board November 6, 2012 election for the three 4-year board seats up for election and resolving that the board positions are hereby declared vacant, effective the 1st day of December 2012; and appointing Joe X. Garcia as the Administrator to administer the district with the same duties and obligations of the elected board.

Background:

A.R.S. 48-802 (D)(4) provides that the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election for Fire District Governing Board seats and appoint the person who filed nomination papers to fill the position when the number of positions is equal to or more then the number of persons who filed nomination papers.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Notify Naco Fire District of need to appoint 3 Governing Board members.
