Discuss, prioritize and consider approval of the list of prioritized Secure Rural Schools Title II projects as recommended by the Public Lands Advisory Committee (PLAC).

Background:

William Edwards, District Ranger for the Douglas Ranger District, USDA Forest Service, recently provided County Administration with a list of project proposals for Secure Rural Schools Title II grants that will be submitted by the Douglas Ranger District. Mr. Edwards asked that these projects be vetted through the PLAC for their review and comment. We have received a list of prioritized projects from PLAC members and have provided them to the Board in the attached matrix.

We are asking that the Board review and prioritize these projects for submittal to the Coronado Resource Advisory Council.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The final list of prioritized projects will be sent to the Coronado Resource Advisory Council prior to February 22nd.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The County will not be able to provide input on which Secure Rural Schools Title II projects should be pursued in the Douglas Ranger District.
