Agenda Item Text:
Discussion and general direction regarding the relocation of the Elections Office from the Old Bisbee High School to suitable facilities at the Melody Lane County Government Complex.
Background:
As the Board may be aware, there has been ongoing discussion regarding the relocation of the Elections Office to the Melody Lane County Government Complex. This would serve to improve coordination and communication between Elections and other affected county departments/offices, enhance overall operations/logistics during elections cycles and provide better access to the election process by the public. On May 7, 2012, a Space Study was conducted by Albert Hopper Architectural Services, to assess the feasibility of moving the Elections Office to Bldg A on the existing County Government Complex. The study revealed that although the space is adequate, it will require extensive renovation to accommodate the needs of the Elections Office.
