Approve a Supplemental Agreement 001 to FAA Lease No. DTFA08-03-L-22502 for construction of a new platform for the Remote Communication Outlet (RCO) antennas at the Bisbee/Douglas International Airport (BDI)
Background:
The FAA wishes to move the Remote Communication Outlet (RCO) antennas from the existing wooden platform and install them on frangible tilt down tubular models which will improve flight safety, and coverage of the RCO while improving the VOR coverage by minimizing the reflections from the existing antenna platform. The proposed RCO location is south of the VORTAC site approximately 200'. The proposed site is not on any published departure or arrival radial, the antennas will be below the VORTAC height, parallel to the taxiway, mounted on frangible towers. Modeling reflects that there will be significant improvement in RCO coverage as well as improvements in flight safety with the removal of the wooden platform.

BOS to sign addendum and when received by FAA, they will begin construction of the new platform
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Flight safety could be compromised and the stability of the existing platform may cause problems for the antenna.
