Discussion and possible direction regarding the use of the Bisbee/Douglas International Airport.
Background:
Over the past several months, there has been increased interest by the Cochise County Board of Supervisors and others about use of BDI for other than aviation purposes. For this reason, project BDI Clean Sweep was implemented on 2/19/14 to begin the process of improving the overall appearance of the airport property by (i.e., demolishing hazardous buildings and repairing others, general cleanup of the airport grounds, terminal, and café area, etc.), to make the property more inviting for possible economic development opportunities. The presentation will also include a general overview of the current status of the airport master plan at both, the Cochise County Airport and Bisbee-Douglas International Airport, recommended development plans, and next step to complete the environmental overview.
