Adopt Resolution 14-45 canceling the Pirtleville Fire District Board November 4, 2014 election for the three 4-year board seats up for election and resolving that the board positions are hereby declared vacant, effective December 1, 2014, to be filled as provided by law pursuant to A.R.S. § 48-803.B.
Background:
A.R.S. 48-802 (D)(4) provides that the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election for Fire District Governing Board seats and appoint the person who filed nomination papers to fill the position when the number of positions is equal to or more then the number of persons who filed nomination papers.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Notify the Pirtleville Fire District of the cancelation of the election and declaration of vacancies.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Pirtleville Fire District would incur the cost of an election.

After BOS signature on Resolution, have it recorded and submit a copy of the recorded resolution to the Elections office.
