Discussion and possible direction regarding the Information Technologies' Department Network/Microwave systems.
Background:
1. Discuss aging network/microwave infrastructure and underscore challenges this presents the County
2. Propose plan to address these challenges and discuss why it is imperative
a. Network refresh - $540,000: This is a fully engineered solution with aggressive discounts. I’m proposing we finance this on a 5 year term which will roughly translate to $10,000 / month
b. Microwave refresh - $1,500,000: I am currently working on engineering specific proposals. I would also propose the County finance this on a 10 year term which would roughly translate to a cost of $12,500 / month

Present a formal proposal during a Board meeting.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Network/Microwave systems will remain the same negatively impacting county services.
