Agenda Item Text:

Approve Agreement between Cochise County on behalf of Sunsites Street Light District and Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. for the installation of two new poles and street lights at a cost of $6,698.83 as approved by the Board on November 18, 2014, sitting as the Sunsites Light District Board, and included in the 2014-15 light district budget.

Background:

The Board of Supervisors, sitting as the governing board for the Sunsites Street Light Improvement District at a meeting held on November 18, 2014, approved the installation of two new street lights.  The request by petition of property owners filed by the Sunsites Community Association, asked that a street light be installed at Highway 191 and Geneva Street and another at Highway 191 and Ironwood Road.  Working with Supervisor Searle, the cost of installation for both street lights was within the current fiscal year budget of the street light district.  The Sunsites Community Association also put forth $1,538.00 for any additional costs that may not be covered in the current budget.  After approval of the Street Light Agreement and warrant in the amount of $6,698.83 is received by SSVEC, the two new lights will be installed.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Request warrant be issued in the amount of $6,698.83 and sent to SSVEC.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Lights will not be installed.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
